We are a group based in the DC Metro area that love craft beer and trying new things. Beer Snobs need not apply. We meet 2–3 times a month, the first Thursday of each month we meet at Meridian Pint in DC (starting January 2013) and the first Saturday a month we tour a local (or not too distant) brewery. We also have some outdoor activities such as hiking and biking followed by beer, bottle shares, beer dinners, and soon beer classes!

A social group for 30's and 40's formed around our shared love of craft beer. Not all of our events involve beer, but as members we do things like brewery tours, attending beer release parties, happy hours, bottle shares and local craft beer festivals. In order to join this group, please be fun, upbeat, and enjoy craft beer. Fresh faces, and first time Meetup attendees, are definitely encouraged to join!

I'm starting this group because I would like to meet up with a group of good peeps on a regular basis to discuss the issues of the day like health care reform, recycling (just kidding), the bailouts, guns and gun policy, hunting, VA politics, and the answers to questions like, "Why are we here?" over massive quantities of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Guinness:) Actually, just kidding. I don't personally want to get hammered, but a beer or two over some good political and philosophical discussion w …

Meetup group intended to explore Washington's craft beer scene. There are plenty of interesting taps around the city and some breweries as well. We'll try to sample some of their wares, and we'll do so in a way that respects the beverage, the craft, and each other (i.e., this is NOT for the binge crowd!). Anyone interested in tasting and learning about a chronically underrated and underestimated craft, and doing so in moderation, is invited to join. We do monthly events, and if you want to mee …

Great Times occur around Good Food, Wine and Fun conversations. Our objective is simple: organize affordable, fun tastings and food pairing events in diverse, convenient locations in the Washington DC Metro area to allow our members to …

Do you like to draw? Do you like to drink? Do you like to do both at the same time, while hanging out with similar folks? Much like the combination of chicken and waffles, drinking and drawing go down smooth, in a delicious combination that needs to be tried to be believed, and yet upon checking out the other meetup options, I quickly realized I'd be either the only one drawing or the only one drinking, neither of which isn't awkward. Ergo, I'm setting this up to see if other folks might be inte …

Join this group if you live a gluten-free lifestyle, want to make new friends, and share similar stories in a relaxed social setting. Feel free to bring non-gluten free friends to show support! Our goal: once bars in the DC area see there is a thirsty (and fun) gluten-free crowd, more bars will get on board with gluten-free beer options :) So let's meet-up an …

I love food. Cooking it, eating it, talking about it, reading about it, watching shows about it. But I’ve had trouble finding people around my age in this city who like to make this a part of their daily life AND are looking for friends that are interested in the same. This is a group for those who want to explore all forms of food the DC area has to offer (restaurants, specialty stores, etc.), cook and bake for others, and meet new people in their 20s and early 30s who want to do the same. We c …
Calling all Singles 40 & Up! Meet for wine (or beer), espresso and decadent desserts (or nachos) and engage with other singles in stimulating conversation on a wide range of topics ... politics, literature, the arts, philosophy, sports, your past travels and wish list ... Light weight chattering is OK. Heavy weight pontificating is cool, too. Anything and everything goes. Humor is a big plus. With all this gabbing goin' on, you just might meet (and be) "the one."
As is quite self-explanatory in the name, we are a very casual after-work/weekend group which obviously involves a LITTLE BIT of drinking. You do not have to speak Japanese nor drink to join us but show us the will to learn. Some members are impressively fluent (let alone our Japanese members). This meetup offers a unique opportunity of learning Japanese in a very comfortable environment while beer amplifies our learning capacity of the Japanese language. Many people find themselves better …
Like that old, soulful U2 rock anthem, do you sometimes find yourself singing "I still haven't found what I'm looking for," and somehow the song's sentiment connects with your spiritual journey? Perhaps you feel emotionally distant from the Christian spirituality and Sunday worship you grew up with. Curious to find out why you’re having these feelings/thoughts/disconnect? But more importantly, curious if there is a better way to think about, experiment with, and practice faith in the 21st Cen …
We are people who like to know more today than we did the day before. We like to challenge our assumptions, question our beliefs and come away with that cherished little pearl of insight that keeps alive our sense of awe at life. And we like to do all of this while laughing together over a good cup of coffee or tea, and sometimes the occasional beer. We are not formal, and come from all walks of life. And we think that everyone has something to learn and something to teach. So swing by the …

This is a casual and friendly book group for D.C. young professionals between the ages of 21 and 35 who like discussing books and drinking beer--preferably at the same time! We meet the last Wednesday evenings of each month at Public Bar in Tenleytown. This event is sponsored by the D.C. Public Library.
In honor of the CitySec movement started several years ago, this is a local infosec meetup run by NovaInfosec.com. We basically meetup in at a local bar every 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month and talk shop, drink a few good beers and maybe grab a bite to eat. It's the perfect way to wind down after a long hard hump day.
