Tonight's Beer Dinner and Future Meetups

Hi Everyone,

I have had some inquiries about tonight's dinner. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and opening this evening for the beer dinner. If you have not made reservations and get an answering machine, I recommend you leave a message and hopefully they will call you. Like many of our events, I did not plan this one, just put it on the calendar. I have no control over their reservations. I will be there at 6. If you're interested in the 8:30 seating and still haven't gotten through, you can call me on my cell phone at 740-9795 and I will let you know if there are still seats available.

If you are attending tonight's dinner, please send me an e-mail at [address removed] and let me know which time. I will try to get us all seated together. I just need to know how many for 6 and how many for 8:30. I can't guarantee we will all be sitting together, but will try my best. The dinner starts with tabled appetizers and beers, so please feel free to walk up and introduce yourself.

One more point I want to bring up. Last Friday there was some confusion, because I didn't arrive until 6:30. I will try to put some measures in place to correct this problem in the future. I could really use some assistant organizers to help with this. This group is growing fast and a lot of events are asking to be placed on our calendar as well as the ones I coordinate myself. I can't attend all of them and won't always be able to arrive at the start time. If you are interested in helping to greet people when they show up and make sure newcomers know where we are, I would greatly appreciate it. As I stated before, an assistant organizer for Durham and one for Chapel Hill/Carrboro would be great. You only need to help if you plan on going to the specific event. I'm not asking anyone to volunteer to do anything more than say hi to people at the events they are already attending. Thanks.
